The Pittsburgh Steelers are among the top professional football teams of American that was founded in the year 1993 and is based in the city of Pittsburgh, in the state of Pennsylvania. This team comes under the umbrella of the Northern Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Steelers are among the oldest franchise in the AFC and has the honor of winning the Super Bowl titles six times after it was founded. Not only that, it has also had the pleasure of winning eight AFC Championship Games in addition to playing a total of fifteen. They have hosted around eleven conference championship games, that are more than any other team of both the AFC and NFC. The most recent championship won by this team was on the first of February of the year 2009 and was the Super Bowl XLIII. Among the different franchise of the NFL, this is the fifth oldest team. The team was called the Pittsburgh pirates when it was originally created back in the year 1933 by the great Art Rooney taking the name from the baseball team of the same area. The team is owned by the renowned Rooney family and after the death of Art Rooney, it controls were given to his son Don Rooney. Today it is run by his son, Don Rooney the second.
