Major-General Chan Chun Sing is today a retired soldier who has served in the Army of Singapore and is the former Chief of the Singapore Army who has served in that prestigious post from the March 26, of the year 2010 to the March 25,of the year 2011. He succeeded the famous, Major-General Neo Kian Hong and was himself succeeded by the Brigadier-General Ravinder Singh. Before he was made the Chief of the Army Staff, he held the post of Chief of Staff, Joint Staff within the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). He is known for holding many different prestigious posts unlike most other Army Chiefs of the country. Major General Chan served as the Chief of Army Staff for one year and retired from her post on the March 25, of the year 2011. Not only that, after retirement from the force, he has come on the political front of the country. He is today a candidate for the Singapore’s People’s Action Party in the upcoming general elections of the country that are expected to take place sometime in the year 2011. For his many different actions for the security of his country, he has been given many different honors over the years.
