Norah Jones is a top notch musician and song writer who has been critically acclaimed and her voice is considered by most people among the top ones in the world today. She has American as well as Indian origins, her mother is from America while her father is of Indian origin. She was born on March 30th, 1979. She spent the earlier years of her life in Brooklyn, New York but her parents divorced in 1986, and her mother moved to Texas along with her. She therefore started her schooling in the great state of Texas. She started singing at the tender age of eight years. Her mother always encouraged her singer and her father himself was a sitar player and his being in the same field did help her out a lot. She attended the university of North Texas earing her degree in jazz piano. She was discovered in the year 1999, she moved to New York and her career boomed after that. Jones released her debut album in the year 2002, entitled Come away with me. This album upon released shook up the entire nation, reached number one on billboard and helped her win five grammy awards.
