Mary Poppins, the book series was first published in 1934 by the British author, P. L. Travers, and the story moves around a strange and mysterious nanny who is blown to the thirteen cherry tree lane in London, into the household of Banks to look after their misbehaved children, not only to teach them manners and to care for them as no other nanny can do that. The series consisted of eight books in which the amazing adventures of the nanny with the Banks kids are described. Since the series gained popularity, in 1964, it was decided that a movie should be produced. Disney worked on that and released a musical film, with the beautiful and charming Julie Andrews portraying the role of Mary Popins.
