Robin Hood of the US, John Dillinger

John Herbert Dillinger, Jr. was born on June 22, in the year 1903 and he died on July 22, of the year 1934. He was an American gangster and robber during the time of great economic depression in the United States. He was one of the very few criminals of the time who were charged, but never convicted, with the murder. It remains a controversy whether he was involved in the murder of an East Chicago police officer. This is the only murder by his hand but he has been the cause of death of many individuals including prison officers, police, federal agents, gangsters and civilians during his many crimes and robberies. It has been estimated that he along with his gang have robbed over twenty four banks. He is renowned in history as being a criminal who managed to escape from police custody not once but twice during his life time. Dillinger is considered as the most notorious criminals of all time. Many governmental as well as local agencies were after him for many years before his death. He met his doom after evading police and federal officers in four different states of the country. He got injured and returned to his father’s house for refuge. After regaining his energy, he recovered and left for Chicago.
