Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman is an English actor and theatre director known around the world for his superb performances and outstanding plays. People travel from around the globe to see his plays. He was born on born 21 February of the year 1946 in London into a working middle class family. During his childhood, he excelled in arts and calligraphy and in order to pursue that, he joined Chelsea College of Art and Design and then The Royal College of Art. After graduating, he started work as a graphic designer and was very successful in his career winning many different prizes for his works over the years. In the year 1978, he started working as stage actor in modern and classical productions of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has appeared in many great films over the year including Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Sense and Sensibility, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Harry Potter Series and voiced the Caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland.
