Sarasota Police have identified the victims as James M. Cooper, 25, and James Thomas Kouzaris, 24, both from England. The juvenile, whose name has not been released, was arrested 24 hours after the murders at 3 a.m. Sunday. Where he was arrested was not disclosed. Police were alerted to the incident by a 911 caller who said "a person was lying on the ground covered in blood" at the scene. Sarasota Police Capt. Paul Sutton said the deaths were classified as homicides and that police are working out the details of the case. The area where the shootings occurred is residential, on a one-way street with no commercial businesses, Sutton said. "We are working out why they were there," he said, declining to comment why the Englishmen were in the area at such an early hour. "Right now, we're still continuing the investigation," Sutton said. No further details were available.
