Blood cancer is a broad term that encompassess three different types of malignancies. The first among them is the maliganancy of any of the many different varieties of blood cells and these are known as leukaemia. The second is the malignancy or a malignant tumor in the lymph node or any part of the body’s lymphatic system and these are known as lymphomas. The third type, about which most people are ignorant is myeloma and this involves malignancy of the plasma cells. The cells of the body that are involved in the formation of antibodies for their functioning in the immune system are known as plasma cells. Together the leukaemias, lymphomas and myelomas are referred to as blood cancer. Blood cancers constitute the deadliest disease to inflict human race.
