Dolly Parton is renowned around the world as the “Queen of country music” and is among the most successful women in the field. She was born in 1946 to a poor family and is the fourth among her twelve siblings. Although, her beginnings are poor, she did rise to fame very quickly. She debuted at the age of nine on the local television and radio. By the age of thirteen, she was already recording with goldband records in Nashville, Tennessee. Her initial success was as a song writer rather than the singer but she earned her name as a singer pretty soon too. From 1967 to 1976, she gained tremendous success as a country artist, and one of the very few women country artist of that time.
