(CNN) -- Conflicting reports about injuries emerged Sunday after an explosion outside a United Nations compound in Gaza.

The blast damaged the wall of the compound, the UN said, adding that it caused no injuries.

However, Palestinian security officials said one person was hurt.

No one has taken responsibility for the blast, nor was it immediately known what caused it.
