All about Eve is an American drama film that is based on a short story by Mary Orr published in 1946 entitled “The wisdom of Eve”. Directed by the great Joseph L. Mankiewicz, this film was nominated for fourteen academy awards and won six including that for best picture. This has been the first and the only movie in the history of Hollywood in which four actresses simultaneously received academy awards, two for best actresses an two for best supporting actresses. The story has a complex plot. It begins with a broadway star receiving an award for her superb acting and then the film flashes back as to how the actress reached this point in her life.
